Band Requirements

STAGE/FLOOR SPACE
The band needs an ideal minimum stage or floor space of 20 feet wide x 10 feet deep. While we will endeavour to fit into smaller areas when this is not available, or odd shaped stages, note that there is a practical limit as to how much room a full drum kit, percussion instruments, two keyboards, two guitars, five mic stands and six people can be fitted. Please also make sure that any DJ or Act you have also booked appreciates the space needed by the band and does not set up centre stage or use an unreasonable percentage of any limited floor space. While the band prefers a good stage (as will most audiences), it is not a requirement.

POWER
We need a minimum of 4 x 13 amp wall sockets and draw around 30 amps with all lights and PA in use. If portable generators are being used 32 amps (or 2 x 16) is advisable. Note that an extension lead from a single 13amp socket will not allow more than 13 amps to be drawn, no matter how many sockets it has on it. Please also take account of further sockets that any DJ might need, as these can't be shared for the same reason. In the event of limited power, the band will make best endeavours to reduce/avoid use of lighting in order to facilitate a performance.

NOISE LIMITERS
Has a "Noise Limiter" or "Decibel Meter" been imposed upon the venue? The Local Authority may do this if the venue has problems with sound containment and very close proximity to residential neighbours. These monitor the sound levels and once the pre-set sound level is exceeded the device cuts the power supply. This is both disturbing for the audience/band and more seriously puts the band's sound/light equipment at risk of damage. Often they are set as low as 95dba, too low for any typical live band to comply with. The band cannot perform in such instances. If in any doubt when the venue has a Noise Limiter, we will need to contact the venue ourselves first.

CHANGING FACILITIES - If you are not a fan of Austin Powers, the band can use more conventional stagewear on request.
The band needs a reasonable private changing room for costume changes, suitable for 6 people, without which costumes will be omitted from the performance (i.e. we play naked!) and we can only wear the casual clothes we arrive in.

ACCESS
The band needs reasonable near stage access from a Leyland Minibus (larger than a typical Ford transit van at 2.5M high), along with parking. For stages not situated on the ground floor a suitable floor Lift (min 6 persons weight) must be available reasonably near to the loading and stage areas, and you must inform the Agent/SpyCandy of this and any other possible access or parking problems prior to arrival. SpyCandy will not be liable for any delay or cancellation due to unreasonable loading and unloading facilities.

SET UP TIME
The band ideally needs 2 hours to set up their full sound system, lights and perform a 10 minute sound check.

FOOD/ACCOMMODATION
If you are kindly providing any of this as part of the contract (for which we are most grateful), our preferred rooming is two twins and two singles (4 rooms total) as we have a serious snorer - no names Fat B*stard, but you know who you are!
